Saturday Sharing: SalesChats #11 Podcast

I came across this (because it was listed as a source to my blog) a week ago and thought this would be a great podcast/video to share with people who are looking at ways to build content.

The video is described as: "SalesChats hosts Eric Quanstrom and John Golden discuss the role of content marketing and social media amplification in an effective sales strategy with content marketing expert Jeff Zelaya."

I enjoyed listening to the podcast while working on posts here. Learn all about content, content sharing, content marketing. It's really useful information.

Thursday Tutorials: Exporting Facebook Insights

Looking at Facebook statistics can be a little overwhelming and sometimes a little distracting (especially if you have people messaging you a lot). If you want to look at your statistics off of Facebook, you can easily do this with the EXPORT option found within the Insights area of your Facebook page.

To do this, simply load the page you want Insights from and click on the Insights option. At the right hand side of the Insights area is the word "Export" Click on that.

When you click on Export, this box will pop up and grey out the screen behind it.  Note: if you click anywhere but in the box to get the data, the box will disappear. Just click on export again to start over.

Figure out what you want stats for and the range of dates and the file format then click Export Data. Note, if you want information for each file type, you will have to go into Export and select a different file type and export it to see all the stats.

Once you export you'll see this pop up. It's not up for long and vanishes really quick, restoring the page to Insights.

The file will automatically download. If you use Chrome, it will appear in your downloaded files bar at the bottom of your browser.

Wednesday Words: Social Mention

Social Mention is a free social network search engine that lets you search blogs, comments, bookmarks, events, news, videos, images, etc. for mentions of your name, your band name, trending tags and more.

I did a quick search for my moniker and here are the results: http://www.socialmention.com/search?q=Kayhynn&t=all&btnG=Search

Social Mention is easy to use. Just type in what you want to find and search. Takes a few seconds, but when done it will show you all sorts of useful data. This can be a great analytic tool when used properly to assess where your brand is mentioned, etc.

Check it out here: http://www.socialmention.com

Tuesday Tips: Reach Out to Existing Customers First

Starting out in social media can be hard and sometimes the easiest way to get started it is to reach out and tell existing customers that you are on Facebook/Twitter/etc. and let them know you're on social media and how to find you - perhaps by giving them a card that has addresses to your social media and encourage them to like/follow/share/etc.

This is advice that Lynette Young, Founder of Purple Stripe Productions and author of Google+ for Small Businesses, has given - and it makes sense: “…reach out to your best customers first (and worry about finding new customers after you are established) and let their enthusiasm help catapult your sustained success.”

It's very good advice to consider. Your fans are often your biggest proponents. If they are telling people about your business outside of social media, chances are they will share what you post on social media as well to help you out.

Something to think about.

Tuesday Tips are a series of tips released on Tuesday each week regarding a hint or tip to help you manage and market your Facebook presence better.  You can find all the Tuesday Tips by clicking on the Tuesday Tips tag below.
