First Friday Delayed - Happy Fourth of July

I figure most of you, like me, will be enjoying this three day holiday and blowing things up in celebration of our country's birth and independence.  That being said, the monthly review of posts that I normally post on the first Friday of every month will be delayed until next week.

If you are running social media sites this weekend, I strongly encourage you to have posts scheduled to post about the Fourth of July - whether it is an image, a Happy Fourth of July message or something patriotic, it always works well to have something ready to go even if you are off of work.

Enjoy and have a wonderful and happy Fourth of July!

Wednesday Words: Social Lead Generation

Today's word, Social Lead Generation, is about generating sales prospects through social media.
The concept is the same as Lead Generation, or traditional prospecting, where people make cold calls to potential clients or customers in order to generate a sales lead which they follow up on down the road. The difference is, it takes place on social media instead.

Many Kickstarter projects use social media to garner social lead generation.  It allows them to market their project and get potential funding through social media.  In fact, most Kickstarters are so successful due to promoting and sharing on Facebook.  Of course, that's what Kickstarter was intended for - to generate funds and leads for people through their platform and social media.

Beevolve has a great article on how to generate leads via social media.  Check it out here:  http://www.beevolve.com/social-media-lead-generation/

Wednesday Words are a series of definitions released on Wednesday each week regarding a word found specific to Facebook's social media platform, or may be a generic word dealing with social media.  These definitions are to help provide you with a better understanding of common and uncommon terms associated with Facebook and social media.   You can find all the Wednesday Words by clicking on the Wednesday Words tag below.

Tuesday Tips: Build Relationships

Several experts in social media have been recently quoted via Constant Contact talking about building relationships with social media.

“Social media is virtual networking. Take the time to build relationships just like you would face to face.” -- Laura Cummins, Owner, NineDotz Consulting @NineDotz

“In social media, content leads to conversation, conversations build relationships, and relationships result in ROI." -- Robert Caruso, Founder & CEO, Bundle Post @fondalo

Relationships are important in the real world, but also in social media.  Friends will recommend other friends to like a page, or a friend who sees a friend liked or shared or commented on something on your wall may be inclined to see what it's about and in turn like your page.  Relationships can be more than just the consumer level, but also on the corporate and non-profit level.  Like various corporations you work with or are affiliated with with your company's page.  Same for non-profits your company supports.  Network and build your relationships through social media.

And, as we keep mentioning in posts through out the blog, be sure to engage your fans, your customers, and the companies/organizations your affiliated with.  All of that helps to build your relationships through social media.

Tuesday Tips are a series of tips released on Tuesday each week regarding a hint or tip to help you manage and market your Facebook presence better.  You can find all the Tuesday Tips by clicking on the Tuesday Tips tag below.
