Images, no matter what social media profile you are working on, are important. Whether it's your avatar image, your cover image, or an image you're using to promote something on social media, using the right image can make or break your post.
Images really are worth a thousand words and if you can convey something with an image, it will carry more meaning than a thousand word article on what you're doing. Not only do images ad emphasis and clarity to an image, they often draw attention better than just text.
Take a look at Pinterest. Many images contain a main image and a few words of text describing the item being linked to or the brand name etc.
Experiment with royalty-free stock photos and add text to them - there are a number of free webbased programs available as well as free downloadable programs (including Paint) that can be used to add simple text to an image.
Use pages of similar interest for inspiration - just don't copy them exactly. Use them to inspire you to create something unique of your own.
